PADI Discover Scuba Diving

If you've always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world's most popular scuba course.

PADI Open Water Diver Certification

The OW Course consists of three phases: knowledge development, practice in the pool, and open water dives.

1.  During the knowledge development portion you learn the principals of scuba diving, watch videos, and take quizzes.

2.  You will learn and apply the scuba skills you need to dive during five pool dives.

3.  You will apply the skills you learned in the pool during four open water dives.

It generally takes about four days to complete the course.  However, there are several options available to fit your schedule.  Times listed are estimates and may vary based on student performance.  We always take as much time as needed for you to feel comfortable each step of the way.

  1. Day 1:  Meet to complete required paperwork and complete knowledge development sessions 1-3.  (4-6 hrs)

  2. Day 2:  Confined water dives 1-3 and complete knowledge development sessions 4-5. (6-8 hrs)

  3. Day 3:  Confined water dive 4 and open water dives 1-2.  (6-8 hrs)

  4. Day 4:  Confined water dive 5 and open water dives 3-4.  (6-8 hrs)
